I'm really looking forward to the festival again this year! The new edition print of Sugar Cane should hopefully be ready in time (fingers crossed) and thanks to the wonderful Pravin, I will be signing copies for whoever wants them at the La Boutique Maurice stall. Ma grand-mère se balance entre le ressac et l'étrange terre.

Que faire des corps qui s'éloignent de son sommeil ?

Quand le ciel cherchera-t-il à comprendre

Nos yeux fermés par les nuages bleus ?

Aïeule qui m'enchanta à poser serment

En murmures d'insectes brûlés de solitude

J'ai remis du sel entre mes yeux pour brûler la mer.

Pour moi les grandes vagues

Déchargeront les tombes des marins

Tant sur les dunes que sur les quais

D'un désert perdu...

A nouveau les rideaux des cordages

Amassent le lointain en outre-mer.

Soudain je comprends les bateaux

Qui partent trop tard :

Je perce l'énigme du désert

Sur les fronts de multiples vétivers

L'horizon ne s'est jamais éloigné...

Qui m'enlève de moi :

Mon corps ou mon âme ?

Ô mon île nubile

Tu récites le premier corps qui m'enfantera sans cesse !

Car le lait n'abandonne jamais le blanc silence /
